How to upgrade your firmware?
ROTALIGN touch EX device - updating procedure
Download and unzip the “rom” files on a PC
Please ensure the ROTALIGN touch EX device is charged or has at least 50% battery capacity
Switch on the ROTALIGN touch EX device and connect it to the PC. A hint to allow the Windows PC access to the device appears
On confirmation, the ROTALIGN touch EX device shows up on the File Explorer
Double-click “Tablet” to access folders on the ROTALIGN touch EX device
Transfer all unzipped “rom” files to the ROTALIGN touch EX device folder “FirmwareUpdate”
After all the “rom” files have been copied to the “FirmwareUpdate” folder, disconnect the ROTALIGN touch EX device from the PC
An on-screen message box “Firmware update in progress. Please wait” appears on the ROTALIGN touch EX device
Wait for the subsequent on-screen message box “Update available proceed with update” to appear.
Tap green tick button to proceed with the firmware update
Follow all the update instructions carefully, and confirm all requested installations
Once the firmware is completed, a hint to restart the ROTALIGN touch EX device appears
Press and hold down the power key briefly. “Power off” and “Restart” icons appear on the display
Tap “Restart”. The update is now completed and after restart may be checked and confirmed in the “About” menu item in configuration

ROTALIGN® touch is the first cloud-enabled touchscreen laser shaft alignment system with integrated mobile connectivity.
With ROTALIGN® touch, alignment trend is fully integrated into your asset management and condition-based maintenance programs.
Maintenance and Reliability managers can remotely prepare alignment jobs in the alignment software and connect to the Cloud to transfer them to a ROTALIGN® touch device, anywhere in the world. Alignment technicians receive alignment jobs directly on their ROTALIGN® touch device. Once completed, the jobs can be uploaded wirelessly back to the Cloud.
A direct connection from the ROTALIGN® touch to the alignment software is also possible.
Built-in RFID machine identification and asset-specific jobs make it possible to track the alignment condition of individual assets over time. The alignment trend provides meaningful information and can be used as a condition monitoring parameter to diagnose machine condition even more accurately.
With the onboard camera alignment reports can easily be supplemented with pictures for easier knowledge transfer.

How to upgrade your firmware?
touch device - ALI 50.200 upgrade procedure
Please ensure the touch device is charged or has at least 50% battery capacity.
Unzip file to empty PRUFTECHNIK USB memory stick. Firmware is stored in "touch" folder.
Switch on the touch device. Wait for Home screen to appear.
Connect USB memory stick to the touch device USB port. New firmware copied from USB memory stick to the touch device.
After approximately 1 minute on-screen message box appears stating new upgrade firmware found. Tap green tick button to start upgrade. Remove USB memory stick from the touch device.
The touch device restarts and firmware upgrade begins.
After completion of firmware upgrade the touch device restarts and finishes in Home screen

With ROTALIGN touch, alignment trend is fully integrated into your asset management and condition-based maintenance programs.
Maintenance and Reliability managers can remotely prepare alignment jobs in the alignment software and connect to the Cloud to transfer them to a ROTALIGN® touch device, anywhere in the world. Alignment technicians receive alignment jobs directly on their ROTALIGN® touch device. Once completed, the jobs can be uploaded wirelessly back to the Cloud.
A direct connection from the ROTALIGN® touch to the alignment software is also possible.
Built-in RFID machine identification and asset-specific jobs make it possible to track the alignment condition of individual assets over time. The alignment trend provides meaningful information and can be used as a condition monitoring parameter to diagnose machine condition even more accurately.
With the onboard camera alignment reports can easily be supplemented with pictures for easier knowledge transfer.

With intelliSWEEP, you only get the best measurement results under any external and environmental conditions. Using a number of quality factors such as vibration and backlash, poor quality measurement points are automatically filtered out.
Live Move enables one-step machine adjustments through the simultaneous monitoring of machine corrections in both vertical and horizontal directions with the sensor at any angular position on the shaft. Not only does this save a lot of time and effort but it is also extremely useful in case of restricted access to predetermined shaft positions.
The modular system is easily configured with expert modules such as Vibration Acceptance Check, Live Trend for the monitoring of thermal growth, simultaneous multi-coupling measurement, RFID machine identification, and geometric measurements.

Measurement flexibility
The patented single laser beam technology, the dual position detectors and the built-in electronic inclinometer allow the simultaneous measurement of the shaft rotation, both vertical and horizontal offset and angularity; eliminating any possible human error.
Measurement Modes
Patented continuous sweep mode
By turning the shafts from any position and in either direction, this patented mode automatically starts the continuous measurement of the alignment condition. The continuous taking of the readings leads to a quick and accurate result. A shaft rotation of only 60 degrees is required; thus overcoming shaft rotation restrictions.
Multipoint mode
For shafts that are mounted on all types of bearings. Measurements at any 3 or more positions; over 60 degree rotation are required.
Static Mode
This measurement mode is used for vertical alignment. Measurement requires 3 or more of the 8 available measurement positions.
Pass mode
Patented measurement mode for uncoupled and/or non-rotatable shafts.

With OPTALIGN smart RS5, shaft alignment has never been so smooth. The unique RS5 sensor contains two XL HD position-sensitive detectors and a MEMS inclinometer to precisely measure the exact position of the laser beam as the shafts are rotated.
With the continuous SWEEP measurement mode, hundreds of positions are automatically measured as shafts are rotated. Measurement can start in any direction with the sensors at any position. All relevant alignment results, including soft foot, are graphically displayed on one screen.
Smiley symbols clearly indicate the alignment status so that there is no need to interpret the results.
With concurrent Live Move, only one measurement is required to perform the required machine adjustments: no matter the position of the sensor on the shaft, Live Move enables to concurrently monitor the vertical and horizontal machine corrections live on the screen. This is extremely useful in case of restricted access to predefined shaft positions.
The Bluetooth module for wireless communication is included in the standard version.
