NDT System
High Performance Ultrasonic Inspection Instrument
Measure the mechanical strength of bonds ultrasonically with the BondHub II. The BondHub II system consists of a computer, scanner drivers, and displays combined with the power of our Bondascope 3100.
The BondHub’s operating software includes industry standard bond testing methods and provides the freedom for the operator to choose which test method to utilize on each test object. The available modes include Pitch/Catch, MIA (Mechanical Impedance Analysis), and Resonance.
Ultrasonic Testing on a Wide Range of Materials
The BondHub II excels at composite materials testing. While these materials have been used in aviation for many years, many new processes and materials have been introduced in the last decade to improve the consistency and reliability of these composites. However, the technologies needed to inspect composite materials have lagged. Fortunately, that’s changing quickly thanks to instruments like the BondHub II.
The BondHub II works very well on multi-layered laminates, glass fiber/carbon fiber composites, honeycomb and foam cores, metal to metal bonding, and adhesively bonded fittings. Typical defects revealed include delaminations, disbonds, crushed core, skin to core flaws, far-side defects, impact damage, liquid ingress, and more.
Power and Flexibility
The BondHub II connects directly to the Bondascope 3100 and combines the Bondascope’s Amplitude and Phase Angle data with the XY encoder inputs from any scanner to create a C-Scan image. Data Analysis Tools, such as defect sizing, multiple gates, adjustable Null, and reporting capabilities are all on board.
The BondHub II is a battery-operated system, compact and easily deployable. With its sun readable screen, it is perfect for the outdoor environment and is compatible with bond testers from other manufacturers.

The portable Curlin Air utilizes air-coupled ultrasonics and requires no surface preparation and no direct contact with test object. It performs sensitive inspections to detect voids, impact damage, and disbonds in a wide variety of water-incompatible materials. Originally used primarily for aerospace composites, the Curlin Air is referenced specifically by major aerospace manufacturers in their published inspection procedures. It has since evolved to evaluate a diverse range of materials including propellants and wood and foam panels.
Air-coupled ultrasonic techniques are used when testing sensitive materials which are at risk of contamination during the testing processes or in situations when the cost of removing special coatings from the material to be tested is impractical. Wetting agents or powders typically used in conventional ultrasonic testing can lead to degradation of sensitive components.

SplitView is Dual Timebase feature allowing the user to view the full range of the area under inspection in one window while at the same time presenting the user with a resizable second window. The second window has a separately adjustable, Range and Delay. The second window can be fixed a specific place in time or set to automatically track (AutoTrack) an echo over a predefined level. SplitView also provides the ability to resize the top to bottom window proportion. For instance, the top window can be set to 10% of the available active display while the lower window would be 90%.
SplitView can be turned off to use the entire screen for a single large waveform display.
SplitScan
SplitScan is an operating mode allowing the user to view the active waveform while performing a Real-Time B-Scan, whether timed or encoded. The feature gives the user positive feedback and identification of indications such as corrosion and pitting in real-time.
AutoTrack
AutoTrack is a feature where the second window has a separately adjustable, Range and Delay. The second window can be fixed a specific place in time relative to the main upper window or set to Automatically Track (AutoTrack) an echo over a predefined level. While in AutoTrack, the echo being tracked will display in the center of the lower window regardless of the actual place it is in time. This feature allows the user to easily view where on the echo waveform the gage is monitoring in a zoomed fashion.
