Maintenance and Reliability managers can remotely prepare alignment jobs in the alignment software and connect to the Cloud to transfer them to a ROTALIGN® touch device, anywhere in the world. Alignment technicians receive alignment jobs directly on their ROTALIGN® touch device. Once completed, the jobs can be uploaded wirelessly back to the Cloud.

A direct connection from the ROTALIGN® touch to the alignment software is also possible.

    How to upgrade your firmware?

    touch device - ALI 50.200 upgrade procedure

    • Please ensure the touch device is charged or has at least 50% battery capacity.

    • Unzip file to empty PRUFTECHNIK USB memory stick. Firmware is stored in "touch" folder.

    • Switch on the touch device. Wait for Home screen to appear.

    • Connect USB memory stick to the touch device USB port. New firmware copied from USB memory stick to the touch device.

    • After approximately 1 minute on-screen message box appears stating new upgrade firmware found. Tap green tick button to start upgrade. Remove USB memory stick from the touch device.

    • The touch device restarts and firmware upgrade begins.

    • After completion of firmware upgrade the touch device restarts and finishes in Home screen

With Easy-Laser XT770 you can perform shaft alignment of horizontally and vertically/flange mounted machines, and align machine trains with an unlimited number of machines. You can also measure twist of foundation, soft foot, bearing clearance, and more.

2 axis PSDs (position-sensitive detectors) permits adjustment of your machine both vertically and horizontally at the same time, with measuring units in any position. We call it 360° Live adjustment.

With the XT770 you have a choice of several different measurement methods, e.g. continuous sweep and multipoint. This gives you the flexibility you need to achieve the perfect measurement result. Read more about the different measurement methods under the Features tab.

Dynamic measurement
The EasyTrend program, part of the XT Alignment app, allows you to keep track of machine movement over time. This is useful when checking for thermal expansion and pipe strain issues for example. This type of measurement requires special DM brackets which can be ordered separately. Read more about dynamic measurement.

Geometric measurements kit
With XT770 GEO you will be able to take flatness and straightness measurements according to established standards like ISO and ANSI. The kit includes the versatile laser transmitter XT20 or XT22 plus a magnet base with rotatable head for geo measurements.

Use with any device
As all other XT systems, the XT770 can be used with the display unit of your choice. The XT Alignment app can be run on virtually any iOS or Android device*, or the Easy-Laser XT display unit. 

Unique documentation possibilities
The XT display unit has a 13MP camera, and you can also get the it with a built-in IR camera as an option. This means you can add a thermal image of the machine before and after alignment. In the app you can easily create and share a PDF report containing all measurement data and images.

Measuring units XT40-M / XT40-S

With Easy-Laser XT770 you can perform shaft alignment of horizontally and vertically/flange mounted machines, and align machine trains with an unlimited number of machines. You can also measure twist of foundation, soft foot, bearing clearance, and more.

2 axis PSDs (position-sensitive detectors) permits adjustment of your machine both vertically and horizontally at the same time, with measuring units in any position. We call it 360° Live adjustment.

Dynamic measurement
The EasyTrend program, part of the XT Alignment app, allows you to keep track of machine movement over time. This is useful when checking for thermal expansion and pipe strain issues for example. Geometric measurements kit
With XT770 GEO you will be able to take flatness and straightness measurements according to established standards like ISO and ANSI. The kit includes the versatile laser transmitter XT20 or XT22 plus a magnet base with rotatable head for geo measurements.

Choose your own display unit
System XT550 comes in two configurations; with or without the ATEX approved ecom Tab-Ex® display unit. The XT Alignment app runs on most iOS and Android units, as well as our own XT display unit. However, those are not allowed in potentially explosive areas, but makes for a perfect complement for use in other places.

Measurement flexibility

The patented single laser beam technology, the dual position detectors and the built-in electronic inclinometer allow the simultaneous measurement of the shaft rotation, both vertical and horizontal offset and angularity; eliminating any possible human error.

 

Measurement Modes

Patented continuous sweep mode

By turning the shafts from any position and in either direction, this patented mode automatically starts the continuous measurement of the alignment condition. The continuous taking of the readings leads to a quick and accurate result. A shaft rotation of only 60 degrees is required; thus overcoming shaft rotation restrictions.

 

Multipoint mode

For shafts that are mounted on all types of bearings. Measurements at any 3 or more positions; over 60 degree rotation are required.

 

Static Mode

This measurement mode is used for vertical alignment. Measurement requires 3 or more of the 8 available measurement positions.

 

Pass mode

Patented measurement mode for uncoupled and/or non-rotatable shafts.

Easy-Laser® E710 is an alignment system that is complete in its full meaning. It does not just give you all the functions for shaft alignment, it also gives the opportunity to check the machine base and any bearing play using the standard equipment.​

Programs for horizontal machines, soft foot checks, machine trains, vertical/flange mounted and cardan/offset mounted machines are included. Furthermore programs for straightness, flatness/twist and parallelism measurement are included. Using accessories you can also align sheaves/pulleys with digital precision and check vibration levels. Large, clear colour screen, wireless measuring units (included as standard), long operating life and robust design give a measurement system that is both reliable and easy to use.

When we talk about simplicity we mean several things, for example, simple to place or mount the measurement equipment on the measurement object, easy to perform the measurement and easy to interpret the measurement result. With Easy-Laser® E710 you can measure all types of rotating machinery, large and small, equally well, regardless of shaft diameter. 

Wireless measuring units (laser/detector) enable you to work more freely. The measurement values can be registered with only 40° rotation of the shafts. You can then align it ”live” using the measuring units in any position around the shaft. The programs guide you step-by-step through the measuring procedure for the perfect measuring result.

Display unit E51

The display unit for the E series enables you to work more efficiently and for longer than ever before thanks to several innovative solutions. It is also ergonomically designed with easy-to-grip rubber cladding and robust construction.

Ergonomic design

The display unit has a thin, easy-to-grip and rubber coated profile that ensures a secure grip. It has large well-spaced buttons that give clear feedback when pushed. In addition, the two Enter buttons make the system suitable for both right and left-handed users. The display screen has clear graphics that guide you through the measurement process.

Personal settings

You can create a user profile where you can save your personal settings. You can also have different settings for different types of measurements. It makes work faster!

Language selection

You can choose the language that you want to appear on screen. English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, Russian, Polish, Dutch, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese are available. 

Upgrading

If you wish to expand functionality in the future, the software in the display unit can be upgraded via the internet or by connecting a USB memory containing the new software. In this way you will also have access to the measurement programmes that we develop for new purposes in the future.

Measuring units ES / EM

The measuring units have large 20 mm [0.78” sq] detector surfaces (PSD for the greatest accuracy) which allows the possibility of measuring at a distance of up to 20 metres[66 feet]. The substantial and rigid design of aluminium and stainless steel guarantees stable measurement values and reliable alignment with the greatest precision in even the toughest of environments. The measuring units are also water and dust proof to classes IP66 and IP67. Connect to the display unit via cable or wirelessly. Both cable and wireless units are connected quickly using Push/Pull connections, no screwing required.

Inclinometers in both units

With electronic inclinometers in both measuring units the system knows exactly how they are positioned. This also makes it very easy to align uncoupled shafts.

Electronic targets

Thanks to the two axis detectors you have access to electronic targets, that is you can see on the screen where the laser beams hit.

Flexible mounting options

The thinking behind the rigid and compact design, is that it will simplify positioning and provide varying installation methods. You can measure all types of rotating machine, large and small, equally well, regardless of shaft diameter. The units also have two extra screw holes for additional mounting options.

Two lasers, two PSDs

The so called reversed measurement method with two laser beams and two PSDs makes it possible to also measure very incorrectly set machines. This is particularly good for new installations, where the machines are not yet in the correct position.

    How to upgrade your firmware?

    ROTALIGN touch EX device - updating procedure

    • Download and unzip the “rom” files on a PC

    • Please ensure the ROTALIGN touch EX device is charged or has at least 50% battery capacity

    • Switch on the ROTALIGN touch EX device and connect it to the PC. A hint to allow the Windows PC access to the device appears

    • On confirmation, the ROTALIGN touch EX device shows up on the File Explorer

    • Double-click “Tablet” to access folders on the ROTALIGN touch EX device

    • Transfer all unzipped “rom” files to the ROTALIGN touch EX device folder “FirmwareUpdate”

    • After all the “rom” files have been copied to the “FirmwareUpdate” folder, disconnect the ROTALIGN touch EX device from the PC

    • An on-screen message box “Firmware update in progress. Please wait” appears on the ROTALIGN touch EX device

    • Wait for the subsequent on-screen message box “Update available proceed with update” to appear.

    • Tap green tick button to proceed with the firmware update

    • Follow all the update instructions carefully, and confirm all requested installations

    • Once the firmware is completed, a hint to restart the ROTALIGN touch EX device appears

    • Press and hold down the power key briefly. “Power off” and “Restart” icons appear on the display

    • Tap “Restart”. The update is now completed and after restart may be checked and confirmed in the “About” menu item in configuration

    The new ShaftAlign Touch is a rugged laser alignment system that provides digital, cloud, and other advancements over the decades-old but still widely used dial indicator and feeler gauge.

    ShaftAlign Touch is a combination of software and hardware innovations enabling maintenance teams to address a wide variety of alignment challenges that basic laser alignment systems cannot handle.

    It also delivers premium Adaptive Alignment capabilities that, until now, were not available in an entry-level system.

    Two innovations – single-laser technology and Active Situational Intelligence – differentiate ShaftAlign Touch from the competition.

    Together, they deliver the “magic” that enables Prüftechnik alignment products to automatically adapt – in real time, as alignment jobs are finished – to the asset, the situation, and the user's experience level.

    Please note: touch device firmware version 2.5 strictly requires ARC 4.0 software version 2.5 to communicate.

    How to upgrade your firmware?

    ShaftAlign Touch device - updating procedure

    • Download and unzip the “rom” files on a PC

    • Please ensure the ShaftAlign touch device is charged or has at least 50% battery capacity

    • Switch on the ShaftAlign touch device and connect it to the PC. A hint to allow the Windows PC access to the device appears

    • On confirmation, the ShaftAlign touch device shows up on the File Explorer

    • Double-click “Tablet” to access folders on the ShaftAlign touch device

    • Transfer all unzipped “rom” files to the ShaftAlign touch device folder “FirmwareUpdate”

    • After all the “rom” files have been copied to the “FirmwareUpdate” folder, disconnect the ShaftAlign touch device from the PC

    • An on-screen message box “Firmware update in progress. Please wait” appears on the Shafalign touch device

    • Wait for the subsequent on-screen message box “Update available proceed with update” to appear.

    • Tap green tick button to proceed with the firmware update

    • Follow all the update instructions carefully, and confirm all requested installations

    • Once the firmware is completed, a hint to restart the ShaftAlign touch device appears

    • Press and hold down the power key briefly. “Power off” and “Restart” icons appear on the display

    • Tap “Restart”. The update is now completed and after restart may be checked and confirmed in the “About” menu item in configuration
